Country Babka – Homemade Sweet Bread

I always wanted to try a Babka recipe, to taste the difference between Paska (Ukrainian Easter Bread) and the very popular Babka.  This year I finally baked Babka and everyone loved its taste and texture. The recipe is basically the same as for Paska, but it requires 2x the amount of yeast and butter, 1/2 the amount of flour,  but same amount of sugar, which you may decrease to your taste.

Happy Easter – Julian Calendar

Most Catholic Christians already celebrated Easter this year on April 21st.

However Orthodox Christians, and some Catholics whose churches still follow the Julian Calendar, will celebrate Easter this Sunday, April 28th.

One Hour French Bread – Quick and Delicious Homemade Bread Recipe

I love fresh bread, and lately have been testing many breads and rolls recipes.  They all are absolutely delicious.

Some require a little more time than others, but none are too labor intensive or difficult to achieve.

I always thought that the ” No Knead”  bread recipe was simple, and it is, but when I found this one for ONE HOUR bread, I could  not believe it, until I made it and found it absolutely effortless and delicious.

I would have made it into a baguette, but since I do not have a  special baking pan it requires, I used two loaf pans instead.

Homemade Waffles with Cherries – Recipe

Freshly made waffles are absolutely delicious, yet so easy to make.

My memories take me back to childhood, enjoying ice cream served in a freshly made waffle cone, while walking on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, NJ…I am still savoring that taste, and the moment.

I have been on the roll with testing various dinner rolls recipes to come up with a specific one, and ended up with some very tasty recipes.

The one I will be posting today has been voted as the “favorite” by my granddaughter.
