This weekend I had a very special guest at my house, who watched me work on my next post for my blog. After sitting there patiently, as not to interrupt my train of thought, he decided to help out….after all…isn’t that what friends are for? As he was hard at work, I decided to chip in by taking a few pictures of this event, and sharing them with you. By the way, his name is Kiwi, and besides being a diligent writer, he is a devout singer.

Kiwi is sitting quietly…. brainstorming……gathering his thoughts……..still kind of in a daze….
Now he is contemplating the correct title for the post……..
Ok….. he also wants to include his profile…….
All ready to go…..”pecking’ away at his story…….
Pheeew…. this is exhausting…… this blogging thing is definitely not “for the birds”……..who made up this expression, anyway…….
I hope you enjoyed this story, as much as I enjoyed his company.
If you want to share your pet story, please email it to me, include your pet’s picture (if you wish), and I will post it on this blog.

3Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We saw this post before, when you emailed our dad the link to it. Today we looked at it again and saw just how much kiwi has changed since April. Her face is now white and overall she just has much more white feathers. And, she has gotten fatter (haha) and has had her wings trimmed since she kept on trying to fly on the chandelier and made it to the second story family room windows many many times now! She is very happy and loves to sing and eat. Hello from everyone!
Love,
Oksana and Lida

4Thank you Oksana and Lida for re-visiting my post about Kiwi. I just realized that Kiwi is a “she” …..my apologies for referring to Kiwi as “he”….I guess I need to refresh my bird gender identification skills:). So Kiwi is changing the color of her feathers…I wonder if she will continue with this, or it only happens once, as she matures….
Sounds like you girls have lots of fun with Kiwi!!! He is a fun bird…..and welcome to visit me any time!!
Thank you for the beautiful update on Kiwi.:):):)

5Your welcome about the update. Kiwi is finished with her color changing. Cockatiels only change color when they are going through their first molt (and this was the first time she ever shed her feathers). So now she’s done changing. We will try to send you a pic from our dad’s email!

6Ooooohhh…..I would love to see her new look. Can’t wait to see her picture. Maybe I could even post an update with a before and after look.
Thank you.
