This European Apple Cake recipe has been shared with me by a friend of mine, and referred to as “Sharlotka”. The cake is made out of a very rich batter (lots of egg yolks and butter), which makes it so scrumptious.
One of my grandsons loves ginger flavored baked goods, which inspired me to search for ginger flavored cookies recipe, so this is the one I loved the best.
They are very easy to make, and the pleasant aroma of the spices filled my kitchen while baking.
It is a light recipe, since it has less sugar and fat, than my other recipe for Decadent Chocolate Banana Bread, posted earlier.
This banana bread is very light and airy. The coconut and cinnamon flavors add to its exotic aroma.
Rhubarb is in season now, so I decided to make an Apple-Rhubarb Meringue Pie. This is a very interesting recipe, since the rhubarb is cooked into a preserve like mixture, before adding it to the apples.
With the upcoming holidays like St. Nicholas Day, Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Year, there will be lots of parties to attend and lots of party foods to prepare and sample. I will contribute, by posting some of my favorite recipes for these occasions.
