The Great Lent – Vegetarian Meals

The Great Lent began about two weeks ago, which means that those who follow this tradition, abstain from eating meat at least on Friday of every week, or some even do it on Wednesdays as well.

If you are like me, and are used to having meat at least once or twice per day, preparing meatless meals a couple of times per week might create a challenge.

I have been posting some of my meatless recipes during this past year, so if you are searching for ideas, here are the links to these posts:

Jalapeno Corn Dip – Vegetarian Recipe

Some people love to entertain and try new recipes. My daughter is one of those people. She and her family are surrounded by the best neighbors in the world….really, I am not kidding. They all get along so well, and there is always some sort of a party going on.

Today I will share a recipe for a really scrumptious Jalapeno Corn Dip, which I love just as much as the popular Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip, I posted previously. I bet you will love it as well, and everyone will ask you for the recipe!!!.

Caramel Apple Dip – Recipe

With the upcoming holidays like St. Nicholas Day, Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Year, there will be lots of parties to attend and lots of party foods to prepare and sample. I will contribute, by posting some of my favorite recipes for these occasions.

Tomato Soup – Recipe

What do you do with all those ripe tomatoes you have just picked off from your garden, or bought at a farmer’s market? You can share them with your neighbors, if they don’t grow their own, and if you are certain that they like tomatoes and are not allergic to them. If you decide to keep them, but you really do not want to spend lots of time in the kitchen, by making home made tomato sauce, you can turn them into a very fast and easy, yet very tasty tomato soup.

7 Layer Guacamole Dip – Recipe

My sister-in-law shared this recipe with me, and I prepared it for my daughter’s Memorial Day party.
It is somewhat similar to a Taco Dip, but much creamier, and with a little more kick to it. There was lots of positive feedback from everyone who tried it. I made this dip with only 6 layers since I omitted the black olives (I am not a big fan of olives).
