Strawberry season is still here, making it easy to prepare a bunch of delicious strawberry desserts.

Today I will share an Eastern European recipe for a very simple, super moist, and very refreshing Strawberry Meringue Sheet Cake.

Raspberry Torte – Recipe

The Raspberry Torte has been my daughter’s favorite Ukrainian torte for many years now, so I try to make it for her special occasions.

This torte requires some delicate handling of the baked cake layers, since each layer is baked separately, and somewhat challenging to remove from the cake pan, similar to the Irene Torte.

This time I cooked up a large pot of quite delicious Italian Sausage and Kale soup.

Traditional Ukrainian Paska Recipe – Ukrainian Easter Bread

Easter is one of my favorite holidays, because of its rich traditions. One of these is the blessing of a basket of special foods which becomes the Easter Sunday brunch, being the first meat meal, after a strict fast on Good Friday and Saturday. One of the special foods in that basket is a round shaped Easter Bread, called Paska in Ukrainian, or Babka in Polish. The top of this bread is elaborately decorated with fancy dough ornaments, having a cross as the central motif. Here is my family Paska recipe, which makes two large loaves, or several small ones.
