Homemade Waffles with Cherries – Recipe

Freshly made waffles are absolutely delicious, yet so easy to make.

My memories take me back to childhood, enjoying ice cream served in a freshly made waffle cone, while walking on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, NJ…I am still savoring that taste, and the moment.

Baked Rice with Apples – European Recipe

We all have flashbacks to our favorite foods of the past, which we have not had for a while, and the taste buds are longing for them.

One of those foods for me is white rice baked with apples, sugar and cinnamon, which my mom used to make for us  as a special treat on Sundays.  It does not sound like much today, but then it was very special.

Butterscotch Blondie Bars – Recipe

This recipe was posted on the wrapping of a Calphalon baking sheet, which I purchased for a family member.

Since there is a lot of butter and sugar in this recipe, I cut the serving pieces into cute little cubes of 2 x 2 inch….so there is less guilt for having more than one piece at a time….:-)

Kitchen Fun With Grandkids

My granddaughter was very eager to try some recipes from her cookbook, which she received for Christmas, and her younger brother also joined in the fun.

First she read through several recipes, to decide which ones she wanted to prepare.

Then she wrote out a menu, and a list of ingredients on hand, as well as the ones we still needed to purchase.

Today is a Blessed Day for our family, especially for me.

It is also a mixed emotions day, because today is my last chemo treatment for breast cancer.
