I love my Pecan Butter Ball cookies but decided to search for a lighter version of similar cookies without nuts so the Melting Moments recipe was the winner.

Even though many Ukrainians love making Kolachky, I have been informed that the recipe actually traces back to Slovakia.
My sister in-law loves making these, and shared her recipe with me, so now I am working on perfecting these as well.
They are so light, flaky and delicious. You can fill them with fruity jams, lekvar or poppy seed filling, but I am convinced that the walnut filing is the best in taste as well as keeping the shape of these cookies during baking time.

These Pecan Tartlets will leave a memorable impression on your dessert plate and everyone’s palate.
Although they may look complicated to prepare, using a tart shaper tool makes shaping the dough into the tart cups a breeze. To prevent the dough from sticking to the tool, it helps to dip it in flour before each application.
