What other comfort food can be more satisfying on a cold winter day, than a nice bowl of hot stew, served with a fresh piece of your favorite bread. Preparing stew the old fashion way could be time consuming, but it only takes 15 minutes in a pressure cooker.
Christmas celebration on December 24-25, and New Year on December 31-1,(Gregorian calendar), are well known dates to the majority of the population, however, per Julian calendar, Christmas is celebrated on January 6-7, some call it Orthodox Christmas, and the New Year is celebrated on January 13-14. Ukrainian’s call this New Year “Malanka”, the day of St. Melania, or “Generous Eve” (Shchedryi Vechir).
As you already read in my log, I am using a pressure cooker on regular basis, for cooking quick meals on a busy day. I will share a few of my favorite pressure cooker recipes. Here is one for Spareribs with Barbecue Sauce. My family likes this dish served with boiled, chunky potatoes, seasoned with sauteed onions, salt and pepper to taste.

The single most convenient, time and energy saving piece of cookware in my kitchen is my pressure cooker. Most of my meals are ready in 15 minutes, which is at least a third of the time it would take to prepare them the usual way. Presto Pressure Cooker was my first pot I ever bought, and used it for over 20 years. During this time I only had to replace the gasket, and the pressure regulator (which I misplaced). Last year I finally let it retire, and replaced it with Splendid 2 in 1 Pressure Cooker by Fagor.
