Happy St. Patrick’s Day

On St. Patrick’s Day EVERYONE feels Irish, especially those who like to drink beer, since green beer is plentiful that day.

My son-in-law is of Irish and Dutch decent, so he and my daughter always host St. Patrick’s Day party for their family and friends. My husband and I also attend, and enjoy spending some fun time with everyone (there is always lots of great food and plenty of drinks).

I bet you thought I will post another recipe, but this time I decided to post this wonderful poem:

French Onion Soup – Recipe

My husband and I love French Onion Soup. However, lately we have not been able to find one to satisfy our taste. Most of them are very salty, and often time somewhat bitter, as if the onions were browned too much.

I have been searching for a good recipe, so I could make it myself at home, but the ones I have tried just did not compare to our favorite one we used to enjoy upstate New York.

March 8 – International Women’s Day

Today is an International Women’s Day. It is an occasion marked by women’s groups around the world. This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday.

This is a very special day for women who are treated with dignity, love and appreciation, but hardly carries the same value for numerous women, mostly in underdeveloped counties, who struggle to survive.

When I came across this article about a very intelligent, enthusiastic, and driven to make a difference, young lady, Rebecca Kousky, I just had to spread the word.

Construction – Phase Three – The Fat Smash Diet

Super job!!!!

We are about to complete the Construction Phase of The Fat Smash Diet.

We have been doing so well with all the fruits and vegetables, and controlled food portions, so in this phase it is time for some rewards. Enjoy some of the SWEETS we have been avoiding. However, we still need to keep in mind the portion size. Instead of eating 5 cookies we should allow ourselves only 2-3.
