With the population moving closer and closer to big cities and suburban areas, we are finding ourselves with less room to start a personal garden. However, the trend of urban and suburban gardens is growing, and it has never been easier to start your own garden on your balcony, stoop, or front porch.
Gardening is a very relaxing hobby. It requires planning, physical labor, continuous upkeep, and endless enjoyment.
Today I will share with you the accomplishments of two senior citizens, who shared this wonderful hobby of garden tending.
My daughter enjoys gardening as much as I do, my sister and my mom.
Her 8-year-old daughter also shows interest in nature and plants…a future gardener in training…:-)
My sister never ceases to amaze me with her green thumb, her passion for gardening, and all her creative talents.
Her husband is not much into gardening, however his creativity complements hers, bringing it all to a beautiful finish, and giving it a special touch.
While my sister drafts and executes all the flower patches, as well as tends to them all, my brother-in-law uses his wood carving talent to turn every tree stump into an interesting carved piece of art.
My spinach is thriving this year, so my first harvest produced enough tender fresh leaves to make two spinach omelettes for breakfast, and a salad for dinner.
