The Sound of Music – Julie Andrews

picture-of-julie-andrews-at-69It’s time for some fun….Lets reminisce about the wonderful movie “The Sound of Music”, and the star actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews.  A friend of mine sent me this email, and ever since I read it, I can’t get the song out of my mind, so I am passing it on to you all, to try the new lyrics.

To commemorate her birthday , actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at
Manhattan ‘s Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP.
One of the musical numbers she performed was ‘My Favorite Things’  from the legendary
movie ‘Sound Of Music’.   Here are the lyrics she used:

(Sing It!)  – If you sing it, its especially hysterical!!!

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and  handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin’,
Thin bones and fractures and hair tha! t is thinnin’,
And we won’t mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, When the hips break,

When the eyes grow dim,

Then I remember the great life I’ve had,

And then I don’t feel so bad.

I love Julie Andrews, how very cute she was to sing this song on her birthday. I remember when I felt so sad that she may never sing again after her operation. Then thru recovery she was back….yeh!

When I was younger I sang all the songs in the SOM over, and over. Thanks for sharing. And I’m glad you liked the post about the ship. You should go check it out. Looks like they have many events in your area along the coast. Feel free to link me.
    Keep it Sweet,

Yes, all these songs had very catchy tunes….once you get them in your head they just keep on coming back…very nice indeed.

Thanks for letting me link to your post.
