Ukrainian Nut Roll – Recipe

If you ever attended a Ukrainian Christmas or Easter Bazaar, you must have been amazed by how many baked goods there are available for sale, plus tables flooded with Nut Rolls, Poppy Seed Rolls, Lekvar Rolls, Apricot Rolls, and other goodies.

These rolls are made out of sweet yeast-raised dough, then filled with one’s favorite filling, rolled up, then baked to a nice golden color.

My favorite is a Nut Roll, filled with a creamy mixture made out of ground walnuts.  Today I will share my sister-in-law’s recipe for a Nut Roll, however, I also used Solo brand Poppy Seed, Apricot, and Plum (Lekvar like jam) fillings for my rolls.

Breads and Rolls – Baking with Yeast Recipes

Baking is a lot of fun, but when you work with yeast for your baked goods, you need to set aside a much longer period of time to complete your project to allow for the rising time of the dough.  Plus you need a favorable temperature of your surroundings to have success with your baking.

I am dedicating this post to all my bread and rolls, and all recipes requiring yeast as the leavening agent.

Butter Rolls – European Recipe

I have been experimenting with different recipes for yeast raised baked goods, such as crescents, breads and rolls.  Some are quite simple and others are more sophisticated, but they all are so heavenly delicious, hence so worth the preparation effort.

Today, I will share my latest recipe for delicious butter rolls, so rich and buttery, and as all yeast raised baked goods, they are at their prime taste right after baking, while still slightly warm….but never served when still HOT.

Yeast raised baked goods need cooling off time before serving, to retain their best texture and flavor.

Homemade English Muffins – Tasty and simple recipe

I love an English Muffin for breakfast, to make an Egg McMuffin, or an Egg Sandwich with boiled egg slices, or just have it toasted with cream cheese and fruit preserve…yummmm.
I found this interesting recipe for English Muffins to make from scratch in my own kitchen, so of course I was very excited to try it.
