Baby Blue Punch – Recipe

baby-blue-punchThis punch makes a very interesting addition to a blue theme for a baby shower.
The baby blue color of the punch resembles the sky, and the melting ice cream scoops, resemble frothy white clouds.
It is non-alcoholic, thus very inviting for the mother-to-be.

  • 1 (.13 ounce package of blue, berry flavored unsweetened drink mix)
  • 2 liter bottle lemon-lime soda
  • 64 oz. white cranberry juice
  • 8 scoops vanilla ice cream

  1. In a large punch bowl, stir together the drink mix, lemon-lime soda, and white cranberry juice.
  2. Float scoops of ice cram on top

Tip: If you like this punch to be sweeter, you may add 1 cup of sugar.  I like this recipe without the additional sugar.

It looks like the sky in Super Mario Bro’s!

  2. BusyMom says:

I think this is great! It would even work for a bon voyage party… just float a miniature airplane on the top of the punch.

Is the punch warm when you put the ice cream in it? Ice cream for ice cubes sounds like a great idea.

  11. Suburban Grandma says:

My punch is room temperature at the time I add the ice cream. You may keep it cold, if you wish, but not warm.

  12. Jet Express Carpet Cleaning says:

If the punch is too cold you wouldn’t get the same cloud effect would you? If the ice cream doesn’t melt it just looks funny.

  13. Suburban Grandma says:

The punch stays at room temperature, so the ice cream melts slowly, creating the cloud effect.

  14. Suburban Grandma says:

I guess different people try different twists to the original recipes, hence the chocolate added where it really does not belong….at least to some of us.

  15. twin stroller mom says:

I added pieces of frozen seven up for an iceberg effect for the north pole party of my little boy and the kids absolutely loved it! They interpreted the “clouds” as “snow” and thought it was great – thank you for this recipe!

Can this be spiked? With what kind of liquor?

  26. Suburban Grandma says:

Any punch can be spiked, with your favorite liquor. However, this punch being prepared for a baby shower, where the guest of honor should not consume alcohol, it would not be a good idea to spike it.
