My Collection of Easter Eggs (Pysanky)

These Ukrainian Easter Eggs were designed by my children, several years ago, under my guidance and assistance. I was a head counselor of a youth group, at my church, for 16 years, and Easter Egg decorating was the most desired craft project of the year. Even the youngest group members, 6 years old, tried their hand at the art of decorating Easter Eggs (we would let them use boiled eggs….to avoid disasters and disappointments with the finished product).

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

On St. Patrick’s Day EVERYONE feels Irish, especially those who like to drink beer, since green beer is plentiful that day.

My son-in-law is of Irish and Dutch decent, so he and my daughter always host St. Patrick’s Day party for their family and friends. My husband and I also attend, and enjoy spending some fun time with everyone (there is always lots of great food and plenty of drinks).

I bet you thought I will post another recipe, but this time I decided to post this wonderful poem:

Rice Cooker – Must Have Kitchen Appliance

Those of us who enjoy cooking, are always on a lookout for new gadgets, cookware and kitchen appliances, and other useful tools which would make the job easier, faster and still result with a scrumptious meal to put on the table.

I am on that list as well, and even though I already enjoy using my pressure cooker and a slow-cooker/crockpot, I came across yet another very useful kitchen appliance, the rice cooker.

March 8 – International Women’s Day

Today is an International Women’s Day. It is an occasion marked by women’s groups around the world. This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday.

This is a very special day for women who are treated with dignity, love and appreciation, but hardly carries the same value for numerous women, mostly in underdeveloped counties, who struggle to survive.

When I came across this article about a very intelligent, enthusiastic, and driven to make a difference, young lady, Rebecca Kousky, I just had to spread the word.

Construction – Phase Three – The Fat Smash Diet

Super job!!!!

We are about to complete the Construction Phase of The Fat Smash Diet.

We have been doing so well with all the fruits and vegetables, and controlled food portions, so in this phase it is time for some rewards. Enjoy some of the SWEETS we have been avoiding. However, we still need to keep in mind the portion size. Instead of eating 5 cookies we should allow ourselves only 2-3.
